Puppy Contract
Terms are subject to change at any time
Buyer/Seller Agreement
- Although puppy has been bred by AKC-registered dogs, Buyer agrees that the puppy is being purchased as pet only, and will not use the puppy for breeding whether male or female. For males, using the dog for stud services is also prohibited. AKC “Limited”registration means that the dog cannot be registered as a breeding dog. In addition, Buyer agrees that the dog will not be used for any type of breeding, even if not registering with AKC. AKC Limited registration papers will be included with the purchase of the puppy. Again, by signing below, Buyer agrees that they will absolutely not use the dog for any breeding purposes whatsoever.
- Buyer agrees to submit a $300 non-refundable deposit in order to hold the puppy. Here is the order of our preferred method of payment: a) Zelle b) Venmo c) Directly though Good Dog. PLEASE NOTE: If you choose Good Dog, there will be an additional 6.5% surcharge to offset their recent policy change for payments. The remaining cost is due at time of pickup and must be paid in cash. Absolutely no exceptions will be made.
- The puppy will be ready to go to its new home at 8 weeks old (2 months), by Florida state law. The Breeder/Buyer will agree to a pick up date. If the puppy cannot be picked up by 10 weeks of age, Buyer will incur additional costs of $25 per day for care and housing until the puppy is picked up.
- Seller/Breeder certifies that this puppy is a pure-bred dachshund from an AKC-registered litter.
- Seller/Breeder certifies this puppy is of good health and free of communicable diseases.
- Seller/Breeder guarantees the puppy’s good health for (1) one week after the buyer physically acquires it.This means the puppy is in good health and free of any disease at the moment of delivery.
- Buyer agrees to take the puppy to a licensed veterinarian within (1) one week after picking up. This visit is required for the health guarantee to be valid. If the puppy becomes ill after the first week of ownership, the health guarantee is void and any vet expenses incurred will be the responsibility of the Buyer. If the puppy falls ill before (1) one week’s time of ownership, then Buyer must provide proof from a licensed vet that the illness occurred due to natural causes, and is not in any way the fault of the Buyer due to negligence or any other reasons.
- Buyer is responsible for all costs/care of the puppy for the entire length of ownership. If the puppy is found to be unhealthy within the one-week period, Seller/Breeder must be notified immediately. A copy of the report from the vet with a full description of illness is required.
- In the very unlikely event of death within the one-week health guarantee period, Seller/Breeder requires verification for cause of death by a licensed veterinarian at Buyer’s expense. Verification includes an autopsy. If the Buyer refuses an autopsy, no replacement puppy from any current or future litter will be granted, regardless of diagnosis.
- Seller/Breeder guarantees – for one year from pick up date – that puppy is free of all life-threatening, genetic/hereditary diseases. Should a licensed veterinarian find a life-threatening or congenital disorder, you must supply the Seller/Breeder within 5 business days of diagnosis with your vet’s written report. Seller/Breeder reserves the right to have any diagnosis verified by a veterinarian of choice. This means the puppy must be returned to the Seller/Breeder before a replacement puppy from a different litter is reserved. It is the buyer’s responsibility to transport the puppy back to Dachshundly Perfect at their expense. If the condition is not life-threatening, the puppy will not be replaced with another puppy (common parasites, fleas, ticks, worms, coccidia, giardia, cosmetic issues are examples of non-life threatening).
- PLEASE READ AND UNDERSTAND THIS CAREFULLY: DACHSHUNDLY PERFECT STRONGLY RECOMMENDS BEFORE ALL SERIES OF SHOTS ARE ADMINISTERED, TO NOT TAKE THE PUPPY TO REST STOPS, PUBLIC PARKS, PET STORES, WALKS AROUND THE BLOCK, OR ANY OTHER PUBLIC PLACES WHICH COULD HAVE BEEN CONTAMINATED BY SICK DOGS THAT MAY CARRY COMMON CANINE VIRUSES AND BACTERIAL DISEASES! Until the puppy receives all its vaccinations, these common canine viruses and diseases are VERY contagious and often deadly (the most classic example is Parvo). Buyer also understands that Parvo can be present at the vet’s office.
- The Seller/Breeder does not guarantee the size of the adult on any puppy sold. There are plenty of genetic and environmental aspects (such as diet, age and exercise) that will influence the animal. Seller/Breeder will be able to confirm the size/weight of the AKC-registered parents and can only hypothesize to give Buyer an idea on possible adult size. The puppy being purchased does not come with any guarantee that it will be free of orthopedic deformities, which are common to the dachshund breed. All vet expenses incurred by the Buyer, whether from non-covered ailments and genetic diseases, will be the responsibility of the Buyer.
- Dachshundly Perfect does not assume or retain any responsibility for the puppy once it leaves our physical address. Although the sale is final and no refunds are given, if Buyer cannot take care of the puppy, they MUST notify Seller/Breeder first to arrange return of the puppy to Breeder/Seller. All costs incurred to send the puppy back are the responsibility of the Buyer. Buyer understands and acknowledges that they will not gift, give or sell the puppy to anyone else other than the Breeder/Seller. This policy is in place to ensure the puppy does not end up in the hands of any irresponsible pet owners, animal shelters, puppy mills, or any other nefarious circumstances that could be harmful to the puppy.
- Seller/Breeder does not give any monetary refunds.
- This agreement becomes null and void due to any injury to the puppy caused by neglect of any kind regardless if accidental or intentional. Please, please, please be careful and vigilant with your new puppy, especially around small children.
- PLEASE READ CAREFULLY: I put 100% of all my love, care and attention into each and every puppy. I am one of those breeders that likes to keep up with my pups during their lifetime. I may reach out every now and then to request updates or photos. I do this to ensure they are receiving proper attention, staying healthy, and are still under your care. I kindly ask that you make an effort to provide updates if I reach out to you during the puppy’s life.
- At Dachshundly Perfect, we love and cherish each and every puppy as if they were our own children. Hours, days and weeks are spent with each puppy, providing them with the attention, love and socialization that is critical to their early development. We take great pride and care with every puppy we raise and do our very best to ensure each one is well taken care of and leaves our care in tip top health. Your puppy comes with its first round of vaccinations and up to date on deworming treatment.
This contract is legally binding. By signing below, you agree with each statement above and will be contractually held responsible for the health and well-being of the puppy throughout its entire life. Failure to uphold your contractual obligations will render this agreement null & void and Dachshundly Perfect cannot and will not be held liable.
